Kadence Design Studio
Turns design intent into real Kadence Blocks. Ships the complete Kadence block and theme parameter catalog plus an MCP surface so an AI assistant can design, build and schedule pages, posts, headers and footers.
Describing a design is easy. Turning that description into Kadence Blocks is not: a single Row Layout carries 170 parameters, an Advanced Text carries 148, and getting one wrong produces a page that renders but looks broken.
This plugin closes that gap. It ships a machine-readable catalog of every Kadence block and every parameter — 91 blocks, 4,036 parameters, each with its declared type and the exact default the block editor would apply — alongside a design system that turns intent into defensible values, and an MCP server so an AI assistant can use both.
What it does
- Designs whole pages and posts from a brief, a section list, raw content, or section-by-section mockups.
- Fills every parameter of every block. The assistant decides which ones to change; the rest come from the block's real defaults, and the markup written to the post is the same economical diff the editor itself would save.
- Builds headers and footers through the Kadence builder, validating every element against the rows and zones that actually exist, and refusing Pro-only elements when Kadence Pro is not active.
- Generates colour schemes from a brand colour across all 15 Kadence palette slots, contrast-checked against WCAG AA and reported honestly when a pairing fails.
- Applies a modular type scale across body copy and h1–h6, with tablet and mobile steps.
- Manages the navigation: lists the menus and the theme locations, creates and places a menu, and links a menu item to a page by the page itself rather than by its address, so the link survives a rename.
- Scores a finished page against the design rules it can check — contrast, heading structure, spacing, section balance, layout fit — and names the call that fixes each deduction, so an assistant can revise and re-score until it clears the bar. It cannot see the page, and says so.
- Knows the layout the page renders inside — page layout, content style, title, header, footer, featured image and page template — and says whether each comes from the page or from the theme. Full-width sections dropped into a narrow, boxed page are reported before anyone has to look at the page to find out.
- Reads a page it did not write. Every block comes back with a stable address, so the assistant can be asked to rephrase one paragraph, swap one image or retune one block without touching the rest of the page.
- Uploads images into the media library from a URL or from raw bytes, and swaps an image already in a page for a different one.
- Schedules pages and posts in the site's own timezone.
- Connects three ways: a local stdio server, a remote MCP URL connector with OAuth, and a packaged .mcpb bundle.
It does not guess at values it cannot verify. Where a block's saved markup shape could not be confirmed against Kadence's own output, the tool response says so rather than pretending.
